Detroit, MI – The Wayne County Friend of the Court is located inside the Penobscot Building at 645 Griswold Street in Detroit. The hours of operation will change effective January 2, 2024. For those customers needing to interact with the Friend of the Court, please make note of the upcoming changes:

• The Friend of the Court Customer Service Department will be open for in-person customer service Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers must be in line by 4:15 p.m. to be served the same day.
• The Friend of the Court payment window will be open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Those wishing to make a payment must be in line by 3:45 p.m. to allow for processing times.
• The Friend of the Court Genetic Testing unit will be open Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers must be in line by 4:15 p.m. to be served the same day.
• The Friend of the Court Scheduling Office is in Room 900A of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, located at Two Woodward Avenue in Detroit. The office will be open for in-person service Monday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers must be in line by 4:15 p.m. to be served the same day. A drop box is available at all times for those wishing to drop off motions for scheduling.

Those looking for virtual or telephonic communications with the Friend of the Court can do the following:

• You may schedule a virtual appointment with a Friend of the Court customer service representative online at Friend of the Court Customer Service (3rdcc.org).
• You may call the Friend of the Court Call Center at (844) 785-7593 to speak with a customer service representative.
• You may access your child support case online by signing up for MiChildSupport at  www.michigan.gov/michildsupport
