Subject:Press Release Free Legal Help for Child Support Issues

Detroit, MI – After two and a half years of hitting pause on the event due to the pandemic, The Salvation Army William Booth Legal Aid Clinic is once again coordinating efforts with the Wayne County Friend of the Court to conduct a Free Child Support Help Program on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. The event will be held at the Wayne County Community College District Northwest Campus, 8200 W. Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48219 from 1:00 – 4:00pm.

Attendees will have the chance to consult with volunteer family law attorneys. These attorneys will provide some legal direction to participants on child support, parenting time, and custody issues. They will also help with completing motion packets.

There will be a brief presentation of the Arrears Forgiveness Program for Michigan State Owed Arrearage. Child support professionals will be on site to assist parents with completing paperwork to be eligible for this program. If qualified, they may be entitled to have some or all of their State arrearages eliminated.

This free child support help program is supported by various community service agencies. Stop by and visit with one of the many service providers who will be represented at this event.

This will be an ARREST FREE ZONE. Masks will be required.

For further questions about the event, please call the Wayne County Friend of the Court at 313-224-6639. Those who have specific questions about their Friend of the Court case can call 1-844-785-7593.
