b'APPENDIX A:Summary of Justice System Partner Feedback 2021-2022 Listening ToursOverview of Listening SessionsListening Sessions were held with the Chief Judge, other judges and administrators, and justice system partners and stakeholders between August 2021 and December 2022 (pursuant to MCR 8.110).Gathering feedback regarding the Courts response to the COVID-19 pandemic was the purpose of the sessions. Many justice system partners participated in the Listening Sessions. Attendees included private and public attorneys and representatives from the DOC, Clerks Office, and community partners (e.g., MDHHS, OCS, Childrens Center, Mediation Tribunal Association, etc.) to name a few.Written comments also were received and reviewed.Each division received feedback.Following the listening sessions, the Chief Judge met with the presiding judges and deputy court administrators by division to discuss issues, concerns, and performance during the public health crisis.Identifyingandclosingservicedeliverygapsandidentifyingchangesthatcouldbe continued post-pandemic were also discussed with each division.Follow-up meetings were then held with justice system partners/stakeholders to report on actions taken by the divisions and share plans for improvement. The feedback was useful in understanding what worked well and areas for improvement during thepandemic,andhelpeddivisionsmakeimprovements.Thefeedbackalsowillassistin charting a future strategic path for the Court, ensuring access, timely resolution, and efficient and effective court operations in the years ahead.Summary of February 14, 2023Discussion of Strategic Planning TeamThe Strategic Planning Team reviewed and discussed the Summary Reports from the Listening Sessions at the February 14, 2023 kick-off meeting. The Team focused on:1.Summarizing observations / patterns in the feedback (table 1). 2.Capturing the changes made because of the feedback (table 2) and what the Court learned as a result of the pandemic (table 3). 3.Identifying opportunities for future improvements (table 4).
