b'Letter from the Chief Judge and Executive Court AdministratorSeptember 12, 2023In December, 2022, the court reviewed the existing strategic plan and realized the need for an updated plan to address the shifting priorities in a post-pandemic environment.Along with this, the court has also experienced a transition in its management team. These changes provide an opportunity to establish our future path. The court gained valuable insight from the strategic plan development experience in 2016.Once again, a committee was formed that consisted of judges, hearing officers, and management team members. The new team was charged with the responsibility of updating the courts strategic plan and enlisted the assistance of Dr. Brenda Wagenknecht-Ivey of Praxis Consulting to facilitate our efforts in this endeavor.Initial planning efforts began in January 2023 and continued throughout the year. The committee met to learn about the courts strengths, weaknesses and challenges.Data collection efforts included using surveys to learn from our employees, judicial partners, and court users about what we are doing well and identify opportunities for improvement. As a result, key focus areas were identified by the committee to help develop an updated strategic plan for the court. The committee also believed the court needed to update our mission, vision and core values to accurately reflect the courts new priorities. These updates along with the newly defined strategic focus areas will help the court ensure long range goals are met. With the help of our many great judges, managers, and team members, we are determined to follow through on this plan. The renewed strategic plan provides clarity and is our roadmap for the future.Thank you for your support and commitment to those we serve in Wayne County as we join forces to serve better together! 9/12/239/12/23Hon.
